五○年代查特．貝克以其英俊面孔獲得樂迷鍾愛，樂評家將其譽為「偉大的白人希望（The Great White Hope）」；在那個年代幾乎他的演奏也是最迷人的。他不但將小喇叭的音色以迷濛、晦暗、哀傷的手法表現出來，他演唱的方式也與他演奏的方式如出一轍。本輯選錄有五○至七○年代的多首演奏與演唱16首，對於懷念查特．貝克聲音的人們，可藉此回味一番。
